101 Seconds free documentary film screening and town hall Portland Sept. 16

FILM DEPICTS THE DEBATE CONCERNING GUN VIOLENCE IN OREGON FOLLOWING THE CLACKAMAS TOWN CENTER SHOOTING - SEPTEMBER 10, 2018

WHAT: This film screening kick-off event in Portland will begin a two-month tour of Oregon, bringing the documentary film 101 Seconds to people across the state to increase awareness about the issue of safe gun storage and to have a dialogue with communities about their views on what we should do to reduce gun violence. The film portrays the debate concerning gun violence in Oregon following the Clackamas Town Center shooting in 2012. State of Safety, a new statewide nonprofit dedicated to reducing gun violence across Oregon, is hosting the series of film screenings throughout the state. At each of the locations, we will show the documentary film 101 Seconds and then conduct a town hall-style meeting with community members in attendance. WHO: The event will be moderated by Henry Wessinger, Executive Director of State of Safety and in attendance for the forum discussion will be Paul Kemp, featured in documentary, brother-in-law of one of the Clackamas Town Center mall shooting victims.
